I started a project over on Instagram a month or so ago. I wanted to draw more "real" faces and not just the ones you find on royalty free photo sites. So I invited people on instagram to post a photo of themselves, use the hashtag #taradrawmyface and tag me. I then choose the faces that I am most inspired to draw.
Here are a few of those faces, which you can also find on my Instagram Page

This semi abstract woman is the first drawing I did when I worked out how to connect the characters I draw in my sketchbook with the faces I like to create. It was done as part of a 60 Day "Find Your Art Style Experiment" which I did for the website and podcast I co-created called KickintheCreatives.com

Day 43 when I first drew the semi abstract woman's face
Day 45 of the challenge when I tried applying the character to the face
This Pug painting was created the normal way I work. First I draw out the basic outline with a mechanical pencil. Then I worked with Caran D'ache Neocolor 2 pastels. After the pastels were applied I used a little water to smooth some of the edges.
I then digitally plan out what I will do with the characters and background before applying them in the real world with a Stabilo All Pencil.
You can see the result below.
You can buy the original or prints in my shop.
